A Deep-Rooted Family Business

Florenco, a thriving family business, has deep roots. Tim Stone has loyal clients dating back to 1970: the year Florenco was incorporated.

“Back in the late 70s I was working in Summerland, at a greenhouse belonging to one of Florenco’s principals. I was there until April 1978, when I moved back to Vancouver, because of the increasing demand for our services downtown. At that time, the company was under the directorship of Ben Viersen. In 1991, I purchased Florenco. Since then Florenco has grown to employ 19 staff. I’ve been doing this one thing my whole life. I became a ticketed journeyman in 1986. It’s my trade. It’s in my blood.”

Staying true to the family business roots, Tim’s oldest son, Daniel, joined Florenco in the mid 90’s working summers and weekends. Daniel officially re-joined Florenco in 2010 and starting learning the ropes right from the bottom of the responsibility ladder. He slowly started to take on more started to take on responsibilities through the years and joined the management team in 2018. In 2022, Daniel transitioned into the General Manager role and oversaw all day-to-day operations of the business.

On January 1st, 2025, Tim and Liz officially transitioned ownership of the business to Daniel and Kim and both families were very proud to open a new chapter in the business. While the business has entered its 2nd generation under the ownership of the Stone family, our clients and employees can still expect the highest level of professionalism and quality that they have come to expect from Florenco for the last 55 years.
